The Challenge
The KCR had been using a whiteboard leaderboards, where the sales managers had to manually update data every few days. The Royals realized they needed to save time and implement a digital solution that could show updated information in real time, in a fun, fast and dynamic way. Summer Kelley, Manager of Ticket Sales Analytics, was seeking a solution that would add value and work with their two different business systems, Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
The Solution
Hurrah! was the perfect option to solve this issue, providing the possibility to easily build and customize metrics, countdowns to important dates, graphics, media and also being able to connect to multiple data sources, it rolled up all the needed information from both systems in one spot for the manager and sales team to see. Management and reps could also view key performance metrics through channels right from their own computers, even if not on the sales floor, connecting them to day-to-day sales activities in real-time. The KCR also implemented Hurrah! their service team, creating a separate channel focusing on promoting and recognizing team member actions that lead to retaining customers. The multi-channel functionality allowed them to display KPIs most relevant to each business unit.

The Results & Looking Forward
Hurrah! helped the Kansas City Royals promote teamwork productivity and positive fun. Each time an accomplishment is achieved and music starts playing, excitement and pressure increases as in a real game! This helps reps close sales opportunities more than before and, as a result The Kansas City Royals tripled their volume of outbound phone calls and other prospecting activities, representing greater potential revenue.
They use personalized walk-up songs in Celebrations for the Sales and Service teams, and play them on both cahnnels to promote overall department collaboration efforts to retain and increase sales. "I strive to have my song played for all to hear and for my managers to hear my accomplishments in real-time," said a KCR sales representative. Now the Kansas City Royals are enjoying the benefits of having fun at work, taking engagement to the next level with contests, tournaments and themed weeks, where music sets the beat of the day.
